Mariam has been at Les Roches since 2000 and has contributed to the creation and delivery of different courses, at different levels, including Academic English, Sociology and Contemporary History over the years. She was involved in the establishment of the Faculty Council at Les Roches and was on the first Council. Other work experience includes organisation of diplomatic conferences and documents research for NGOS in Geneva.
Hospitality marketing specialist Emilio has been part of the Les Roches faculty since 1994. He teaches both undergraduate and postgraduate students, focusing on marketing- and sales-related topics. Prior to his academic career, he worked for Costa Smeralda Hotels in Italy, as well as in several sales-related roles for CIGA Hotels in both Italy and the USA.
Friedrich joined the Practical Arts faculty at Les Roches in 1990. Before that, he gained experience at a number of 5* hotels across the world, including the Hilton International in Dubai and the Hyatt Regency in Grand Cayman.
Wolf started teaching at Les Roches in 2010, having also achieved his Bachelor’s degree and MBA at the school. Before returning to his alma mater, Wolf gained a combined six years of experience in the hotel industry and educational consulting sector. In the former, he worked with brands such as Hyatt. He is a regular guest lecturer in Latvia and has participated in several conferences. Alongside his role as a Lecturer, Wolf is also Program Manager for the sixth and seventh semesters of Les Roches’ BBA program.
Ewa began her career in her native Poland, working as a researcher and computer programmer at the Gdansk-based Ship Design and Research Centre. After moving to Switzerland she worked for a luxury watch brand before moving into academia. She joined Les Roches in 2007.

Diana has been teaching German courses at Les Roches since 2002. She shares her time with a number of other prominent educational institutions in the Canton of Valais. As an expert in the language, she also performs evaluations for German Goethe certifications.
A Les Roches alumna, Marinez has been teaching at the school since 2003. She also manages the HR department at the Guarda Golf Hotel & Residences in the nearby resort of Crans-Montana.
Riccardo entered the world of academia after a successful 14-year career in the hospitality industry. Among his achievements were becoming the youngest General Manager for Hilton at just 23 years of age; and the youngest GM at IHG EMEA two years later. He has extensively researched new technologies that will have a growing impact on the industry, including blockchain, artificial intelligence and cryptocurrencies.

Paulo has been a member of Les Roches’ faculty since 2009. Before that, he worked as Maître d’Hôtel for Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines and as Beach Director for Resort Pedras D’el Rei in his native Portugal.
Bertrand has been teaching French language at Les Roches sine 1993. He previously taught academic subjects to apprentice chefs and trainee restaurant managers in Switzerland.

Having begun his hospitality career at the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park London, Tristan subsequently ran the Banquets team at London’s Corinthia Hotel, also specializing in weddings and high profile events. He lectured at the Swiss Hotel Management School in Caux for four years before joining Les Roches in 2018.
Laurent, who joined the Les Roches team in January 2018, brings a wealth of F&B, mixology and bar management experience. He enjoyed stints behind the bars of two 5* establishments, the Grand Jersey Hotel & Spa and the Beau Rivage Palace in Switzerland. He has also been career affairs & events manager for Swiss Education Group.
Frederic learned his trade as owner and executive chef of Escargot Restaurant in Fort Worth in the United States. He then joined Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, working in the United States before becoming Executive Chef at the company’s award-winning Bora Bora resort. He joined the Practical Arts faculty at Les Roches in 2017.
Before moving to Switzerland to join Les Roches in 2018, Theodoros amassed a wealth of practical F&B experience in his native Greece. He was latterly with Ikos Resorts, where he performed the roles of Restaurant Manager and then Assistant Food & Beverage Operations Manager.
Rachel has been with Les Roches since the year 2000. Before that, she taught English in Switzerland for 10 years. She describes her biggest satisfaction as seeing students who struggled with English when they first arrive at Les Roches graduate confidently at the end of their studies.
Franc has been with Les Roches since 1996, during which time he has performed a number of roles including MBA Program Manager, Dean, Program Leader and Senior Lecturer. Prior to teaching, he held roles in consulting and research for various international businesses, including governments, events, tourism, finance and hotels. He also organized international ski competitions, F&B events and staged live shows.
Bilal brings considerable expertise in business development and project management, in areas such as healthcare and events management. As part of his role, Bilal negotiates new consultancy projects and integrates these within each semester’s academic curriculum. He is currently leading the Consultancy Project with Les Roches MBA students. Bilal is also co-founder of SoHappy Institute Geneva.

Gretel brings over 20 years’ experience as a tourism consultant and researcher in Switzerland, France and the UK. She has also held the position of acting Director to the Public Relations Department of the Palestine Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities.
Steven teaches on our BBA program, where he shares his extensive knowledge of finance, accounting and law.
Arnaud has more than 30 years’ experience as a lecturer specializing in finance and economics. He has worked for several educational institutions in Switzerland, while also undertaking a travel and tourism-related project in Kenya on behalf of the Swiss government.
Joao has enjoyed considerable success as an F&B manager, head of service department and practical arts instructor at internationally-known hospitality management schools.
Ruggiero is a practical arts instructor who brings extensive experience from some of Europe’s finest hotels and luxury resorts. These include Starwood Luxury Collection Resorts Italy, Gravenbruch Kempinski Frankfurt, JW Marriott Grosvenor House London and Palace Hotel Kempinski in Geneva.
Pablo has been with Les Roches for almost 15 years, giving students the benefit of his expertise in food & beverage, culinary arts and nutrition. He earned the status of executive chef at the tender age of just 21, while just a year later he became F&B Director at corporate level. He began teaching at 24 years of age, earning excellent feedback from his students each semester. He has lived and worked in Spain, Australia, Germany, Brazil and Switzerland.
As an expert in hospitality finance and accounting, Debra is a member of Les Roches’ visiting faculty. Her book ‘Management Accounting for the Hospitality Industry – A Strategic Approach’, is widely used as a text for courses in hospitality. She is also Head of Professional Development Programs for HOSPA (Hospitality Professionals Association), as well as the owner of consultancy company arena4finance.

Kirstin has taught English at leading institutions in Switzerland and Japan for nearly 30 years. Her role at Les Roches is focused on improving students’ academic and professional writing skills. She also uses her own writing skills as an online instructor to students working as interns in locations across the globe.
Matthias has first-hand experience in premium service operations, having held managerial positions at some of London and Hong Kong’s finest restaurants. These include ZUMA, The Ritz and The Ledbury. He joined the faculty team at Les Roches Bluche in 2011.
After eight years in the airline business, Qiaoping decided to change careers and enter the fascinating world of cruise management. She spent the next eight years working with Royal Caribbean International and Carnival Cruise Line, before becoming a Rooms Division Lecturer for Les Roches Jin Jiang in 2006. She has been teaching at our Swiss campus since 2007.
Having worked for almost 10 years as Associate Hotel Director for Royal Caribbean International, Edward joined Les Roches in 2006, bringing his hospitality experience and passion for customer satisfaction to the classroom. He was initially Program Manager at Les Roches Jin Jiang in China, before moving to the Bluche campus in 2007.

A hospitality professional with over 20 years of experience, Vincenzo has worked in the luxury hotel and restaurant sector across Germany, the UK, Latvia and Switzerland. His main duty stations include Relais & Château, Kempinski Hotels and Michel Roux’s The Waterside Inn, the first restaurant in the UK to obtain three Michelin stars. Vincenzo is also a member of the ASSP (Association of Swiss Professional Sommeliers), where he acts as vice-president of the Valais chapter.

John brings more than 30 years’ academic experience to Les Roches. Paul boasts extensive experience of accountancy, digital technology and education, having worked as an accountant, consultant and lecturer. As EdTech Director at Les Roches, Paul leads the innovation lab, media lab and the educational transformation required for the digital generation.
Ruth is an expert in both event management and arts organization, providing more than 20 years of experience. She is a member of the Swiss Faculty Development Network, plus she also serves as a Board Member of the Sion Festival.
