At my workplace in Anantara, one of our service philosophies is to create stories for our travellers.
It is no exception at Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort, where we go the extra mile to create memorable experiences for our guests.
Still in my first placement and rotating through departments, I had the opportunity to work with the in-house florist, Abbas, at the Housekeeping Department.
Abbas hails from India and has been working with flowers to brighten people’s day for more than a decade. At my hotel, one of his specialisation is crafting romantic setups for couples who would like to celebrate their anniversaries or any other special occasions.
Recently, we assisted a guest in setting up a surprise romantic atmosphere for his proposal to his girlfriend! Whilst the guests were participating in resort activities amongst the sand dunes, we entered into the villa and transformed it into a magical place in a very short time.
Usually, back-of-house staff would not know whether the guest’s attempt has been successful, but everyone was delighted to receive a thankful note from the guest in the feedback sharing his wonderful experience at Qasr Al Sarab and of course, the happy ending to his story… She said YES!
It is always encouraging to know that we not only make a difference in our guests’ day, but their lives!
