Huge congratulations to the 200 Les Roches students who graduated at the end of May.
Les Roches celebrated the graduation of 200 BBA, BSc, PG, PHD and MBA students from the hospitality management programs on Friday 30th May.
Hundreds of family and friends joined them to celebrate 3.5 years of hard work, determination (and no small measure of fun times, too), at the ceremony and dinner afterwards.
Rami Sayess (class 89), Regional Vice President & General Manager at Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts, and featured last year in our Webzine gave an inspirational talk as guest speaker.
“The duty of our business is to expect the unexpected, no two days are the same, that’s what makes our business fun and exciting.”
The Student valedictorian speech was given by Ana Paula Herrera Fernandez, BBA7 from Mexico who spoke about what “Les Roches way of life” meant for her: the mix of multicultural students, the chance to go travelling during internships and, moreover, the people, the sense of community. She concluded by saying that more than a way of life it’s been a life changing experience, a sentiment that we are sure many students share.
Students from over 55 nationalities were represented, in typical Les Roches global style. Those family members who could not attend could join in via the internet as, for the third time running, the graduation ceremony was broadcast online.
The sun came out, the wine and canapés flowed. Les Roches students prepared an apero for after the ceremony. It consisted of delicatessen finger food: delicious canapés and typical Swiss food such as raclette and viande sechée – a last taste of Switzerland before graduates move away.
Though we are sure the graduates are taking a well-deserved break from all things school-related at the moment, if anyone wants to see the live stream recording, it is available here.
