Students are back at Les Roches International School of Hotel Management

After a well deserved summer break, students have returned to Les Roches International School of Hotel Management campus to start or continue their program in hospitality management.

For the second semester of 2011 again, the student body at Les Roches consists of an impressive cultural mix with more than 90 nationalities.

It’s the start of a new school year for 340 new students for the Bachelor, Postgraduate and Master programs at Les Roches International School of Hotel Management. In addition, the third, fifth and seventh semester students will return from their internships to continue their education on campus in Switzerland. It is also time for the second, fourth and sixth semester students to leave the school and start their six month professional experiences around the world.

This year, a lot of changes have been introduced at the hospitality institution. For instance, a webcast will gather students each month to listen to professionals from the tourism and hospitality industry. They will give insights on new trends in this constantly moving sector.

In addition, the first cohort of students will be leaving for Les Roches’ partner school in Jordan, the Royal Academy of Culinary Arts to undertake a ‘professional development semester’ which is part of the new ‘Culinary Business Management’ specialization for the BBA. Furthermore, Mr. Hutchinson, Director of Academic Affairs is proud to announce the arrival of a design teacher to Les Roches: ‘We are looking forward to welcoming a lecturer from Domus Academy in Milan, our partner school in Italy, to deliver the Architecture and Design course for the ‘Hotel Design and Project Management’ specialization for the BBA’.

Not only students but parents are also impressed by the school upon arrival: ‘I have been impressed by the orientation and the atmosphere in Les Roches. I sincerely hope that with such an excellent learning environment my son and others will make use of this for their future career path development’ comments a parent during the first day check-in.

This semester again, a lot of international companies have planned to come to Les Roches: Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts, Hyatt, Hilton, Mandarin Oriental Group, The Landmark Hotel London, Rezidor, Fairmont, the Ritz Carlton Group, Orient Express, Starwood, the Atlantis Palm Dubai and many more will recruit students for internship or permanent positions. The growing interest for industries close to hospitality and tourism like leisure, fashion and luxury brands is confirming with Louis Vuitton and Disneyland re-visiting this semester again. The future is bright for the students of one of the best institutions in the world for an international career in hospitality management.
