“BBA in Global Hospitality Management” courses

This hotel management degree takes place over seven semesters, two of which are spent in professional internships.
Starting in September 2018

Les Roches Bachelor of Business Administration in Global Hospitality Management

During the first semester of your global hospitality management degree, you will be immersed in the practical arts. Your courses will include:

  • Gastronomy and Tradition (4 weeks)
  • Guest relations and Hotel Operations (4 weeks)
  • Skills and Techniques (4 weeks)
  • Trends and Innovation in F & B (4 weeks)
  • Hospitality culture (4 weeks)

1 course from the following:

Professional internships give your hospitality management career a head start. Your first internship will expose you to roles and responsibilities in hospitality operations, such as service (restaurant, bars, room service) or rooms division (front office, housekeeping).

Upon your return from your first internship, you will take courses on hospitality fundamentals, including:

  • Hospitality Financial Accounting
  • Food & Beverage Management and Cost Control
  • Marketing for the Hospitality Industry
  • Fundamentals of Data Analysis & Visualization
  • Managing Diversity in the Global Workplace
  • Consumer Behavior

1 course from the following:

  • German
  • Presentation Skills and Public Speaking
  • Social Responsibility
  • Cultural Diversity
  • Conflict and Negotiation
  • Hospitality Design
  • Digital Media Content Creation

In your fourth semester, you will continue to build your understanding of key hospitality principles. Your courses will include:

  • Digital Marketing and Sales
  • Economics for Hospitality
  • Rooms Inventory and Control Management
  • Hospitality Managerial Accounting
  • Communicating Effectively (as per tested level)
  • Hospitality Facilities Management

1 course from the following:

  • Cultural Diversity
  • Conflict and Negotiation
  • Hospitality Design
  • Digital Media Content Creation

In your second professional internship, you will build your skills in hospitality management, project management, time management and communication.
You can spend this semester in any department or in cross-training. Hotels and restaurants are popular choices for the second internship, but students also choose other industries.

In the final year of the BBA in Global Hospitality Management, you will focus on broader business practices and strategic management. Your courses will include:

  • Revenue and Pricing Management
  • Hospitality Financial Management
  • Modelling for Management
  • People and Talent Management

2 courses from the following:

  • Team Dynamics
  • Cross-Cultural Communication
  • Ethics and Management
  • Events Management

  • Law and Contracting
  • Research Methods
  • Business Analytics for Decision-Making
  • Financial Analytics for Decision-Making

In the last semester of your bachelor’s degree, you may either choose a specialization, taking courses focused on one subject area, or you may choose the General Management track, taking a range of elective courses in different subject areas. Honors degree candidates will also complete a dissertation.
