Culinary arts specialization discovery week with guest-speaker from Royal Academy of Culinary Arts

As an introduction of Culinary Arts to its BBA students, Les Roches has invited Markus Kalberer, Culinary Lecturer at the Royal Academy of Culinary Arts (RACA) in Jordan, to present this institution and to give insights on what the Culinary Arts specialisation involves.

He will visit us during the week from March 5th to March 9th and will work together with Les Roches students who have chosen the Culinary Arts specialisation and spent one semester with  RACA in Jordan. As of March 6th there will be a decorated booth outside of the dining area at Les Roches premises displaying course materials, videos featuring Les Roches students who have been studying in RACA, and information about Jordan. The Les Roches students will be present at the booth to provide information of their experience at RACA and Jordan.

On March 7th and 8th we’ll have the chance to to participate in a great culinary cultural exchange. Markus Kalberer, together with our current Kitchen students in second year, will be preparing typical Jordan appetizers for the Market Place lunch for students and staff: Seared Tuna with onion manaqish, tabouleh, Lamb kibbeh, fatoush, pita bread. Doesn’t that sound mouth-watering?

This culinary discovery week will close on Friday March 9th, with a presentation by Markus Kalberer to BBA students about the culinary specialization.
