Professional Biography
Detlev Remy is the Program Manager for the Bachelor of Business Administration program. He is originally from Germany and speaks English and Italian.
He teaches marketing and revenue management to Bachelor and MBA students.
Detlev Remy started his career in the hospitality industry in 1986, working in various positions up to general management position. These positions included inter alia managing director of the Kurhaus Baden-Baden with banqueting facilties up to 6.000 people and project manager of the consultany group Dr. Kaub Group, Munich.
Additionally he started his own consultancy business, advising international beverage, tourism and hospitality businesses.
From 2003 - 2007 Detlev Remy lectured at the Shannon College of Hotel Management, a recognized college of University of Galway, Ireland. He joined Les Roches International School of Hotel Management, Switzerland, part of Laureate Universities, in July 2007, lecturing marketing and revenue management and holding the post of program manager for the Bachelor program since 2009.
Having completed a Masters in Marketing at University College Cork, Ireland in 2007, he is now studying for a doctorate at the University of Surrey, UK, planning to finish in 2013.
His research interests are revenue management, branding and destination marketing. He has published in the International Journal of Leisure and Tourism marketing, and attend regulary academic conferences to present papers. Detlev Remy is also regulary invited to attend major Revenue and Pricing conferences in Europe giving speeches on revenue management related topics, additionally he is giving guest lectures in marketing and other subject areas to other educational organisations.
He holds membership of the Irish Marketing Institute, HOSPA and also the Chartered Institute of Marketing, UK.
